Genesis
A prism can be used to break light up into its constituent spectral colors.
It can also be used to reflect light, or to split light into components
with different polarizations.
Strategic Marketing requires a lot of “reflection” essentially
to help understand the context within which a marketer operates and takes
decisions. Strategic marketing puts the pieces together in shapes, forms,
angles and sequences to make the expected and unexpected, known and unknown
appear clearer and relevant in the decision making context. That’s
what a binocular or zoom lens does bringing distant, unclear, invisible
objects closer and clearer. Binoculars do it with reflective qualities
of prisms. Strategic marketing does it through its practitioners’
analytical lenses.
Further, the polarizing property of prisms splits a beam
of light into components of varying polarizations. Post reflection strategic
marketing also consciously aims at identifying polarizations or groups/clusters
of homogeneous and non homogenous characteristics in the market.
Lastly, the most commonly known property of prisms, the dispersive property
of prisms, used to break up light into its constituent spectral colors
is very similar to strategic marketing, developing one or more strategic
choices that impact the bottom-line of any business.
At PRISM we are professionals and practitioners of strategic marketing
reflecting, identifying polarizations and offering one or more strategic
choices that can significantly impact your bottom-line.
